An Icon Set is a collection of 100x100px pictures. These are often more complicated in construction than bases and are intended for use as finished pieces. Icons may feature more advanced graphic design and text, though not all do.

A Layout is a way of styling a webpage. Currently our layouts are provided for sites such as livejournal.com and insanejournal.com and code is provided with each layout for use on these sites.

On a more simple level, each Layout comes with a single header picture which provides the focus of the Layout. You may just wish to save the header picture for use as you wish, rather than taking the entire code.

Banners can be used for a variety of purposes. Currently, hollow-art.com puts Banners into three categories, though Banners can be used in other situations.

User Info Banners
These banners are sized to be able to be used on user info pages on sites such as livejournal.com. They are often smaller than layout images to reflect the available size constraints in areas such as this.

Friends Only Banners
These banners are intended for use as declarations of the status of an account on sites such as livejournal.com.

Signature Banners
These banners are intended for use on message boards and forums for use within signatures. They are often sized to reflect the size constraints for signatures on forums.

If you wish to save any of the pictures on this site, simply right click on the full size view of the image and press 'Save Image As...'. (Note: this may be slightly different for non-PC users).

We ask that you do not do this, simply because it makes indexing the site hard. We have worked hard to make the site content as accessible as possible and therefore ask that you only post one subject per post. Each post is automatically indexed in our listing according to title and therefore needs to have a single subject.

For example, please do not post an icon set where there are 13 icons of Summer Glau, 16 icons of Tom Cruise and 15 icons of Freddy Mercury. Instead create three separate posts, one for each subject.

In order that the content of this site is useful to others, we have taken the decision that for Icon Sets and Base Sets these must have a minimum number of 12 Icons/Bases to be published. If your set has less than 12 in it, it will remain unpublished (ie, only visible to you and the site administrators) until you add more content to it. Once you have added at least 12 Icons/bases, your set will be published.
