    ?Bellum Letale?
don't judge a book by its cover

PREMISE | RULES | FAQ | THE CHARACTERS | APPLICATIONS

There is an apartment building in New York called 'Bellum Letale.' Most people ignore its auspicious name, though they would be advised to pay more attention to its meaning.

It is a strange building. It seems to be somehow bigger inside than out, with narrow passageways, intimidating doorways, and lovely corners that disappear and reappear at random. And its occupants are just as strange--from all over the world, from all walks of life, all of their lives have nudged them toward this building as if they were always meant to live there.

This is, of course, because they were. Every man, woman and child in the building is a reincarnated fable, the stories told to human children for hundreds, sometimes thousands of years. Once very real, the fables began to fade as science and reason dispelled the probability of their existence. They have all been reborn in human forms, though their essence remains, waiting to be awakened at the right time, in the right place.

Now is the time--Bellum Letale is the place. As their lives connect and weave together, as they follow their petty desires and chase love, they are, all of them, on the brink of disaster. Not just for them, but for the world at large. This world of science is in need of fables once more, even if the fables themselves do not yet know how much.

Bellum Letale--Lethal War. A premade fairy tale and fable community. Now taking holds and applications. We are set to open within the next two weeks or when we recieve five applications. Looking for Looking for Morrigan, Jack of Tales, Sweeney Todd, characters from the Peter Pan crew, Dracula, The White Snake, The Witch of the West, or anyone else, really.

or at least, it used to be a paradise...

Ever since the typhoon (well, okay, it wasn't exactly a TYPHOON.. those only happen in places like China and on remote Pacific Islands), it hasn't quite been the same around here. Elevators break down, lobsters have been escaping the Lobstery, and all that's left of the charming little town is funny antique stores and dead grass. But y'know, we almost like it better now. Hey, a little rain never hurt anybody, right?

But, what of the Pier's prized seaside academy? The institution had been running for years before the storm, but since then, a bunch of families took off, not wanting to face another one. As a result, Paradise Pier Seaside Boarding Academy became something just a little different than it was before. With its grand academic reputation, Paradise Pier is also widely known as the high school with the single largest, strangest, most whimsical set of majors, from literature to magicians' arts, dancing to pyrotechnics, criminology to fencing, botany to cake decorating-- the Pier has something to offer foreveryone

It's no wonder that the students that began repopulating the school the second time around were of a slightly.. different breed. You just never know just who or what you'll encounter at the new Paradise Pier!

    just ask the students!

"Yeah, it's a little gloomy, but y'know, I'm gettin' used to it. It's got the bare necessities-- my buddies, good food, good-lookin' ladies, a roof over my head, and a little bears' room-- and that's all a place really needs, right? RIGHT! Now yer gettin' it!"

"Well, Paradise Pier is a most curious place. It says to be paradise-like and you get the image of sun in your head from the brochure. However, the weather's just as drizzly and cold as England's. Despite the poor weather, I am not sure what I would do without the Pier. All of my dearest friends are here and there are still quite interesting people left to meet. Though some of them are a bit frightening and very well possibly... dare I say, mad? Either way, it's something interesting where I can focus on my creative writing, I wouldn't dream of leaving."

CHARLES 'CHUCK' PRINCETON grade 12//fencing major:
"Ah, don't listen to those silly brochures they'll try to force on you. I've got all the information you are going to need, trust me. The place looks abysmal in person, it never seems to stop raining, and the social life is decidedly lacking, but as far as schools go it isn't dreadful. And it does have a stunning student body (which I would think would be obvious, as I'm here). It may not be London, but I am sure there are worse places to be... probably."
