Five Elements, each controlled by an Elemental Master and a Shadow Warrior to form Light. As these ten students and their allies continue their lives at Hogwarts, will they ever be able to truly lead normal existences? With tension bubbling all over the school, rumours flying about at breakneck speed and the dementors and shadow creatures in the forest growing in volume every day, what is the chance that the Order of the Light will succeed in its task to halt Dark Phoenix's growing hold on the realm?
Spies are everywhere, the Hogwarts gossip stream always eager to keep up with the more normal aspects of school life... even if certain events are not quite as normal as they may seem. You cannot trust a stranger, you can barely trust your friends, and as for your allies... well. They're hardly a close-knit bunch with so many different personalities clashing. Then there are your enemies; the Shadow Mage's servants, forever keen to show their allegiance by giving her a tidbit of information. They say even the headmistress cannot be trusted.
So come on in, join the war taking place under everyone's noses. You may lose people you care about; in fact, it's quite likely. But both the Order of the Light and Followers of Dark Phoenix are in need of their numbers growing if either side has any wish to win the Shadow Wars.

Have you ever wondered what the world might be like if certain things had turned out differently? What if Britain's Empire had never been lost? What if technology, religion, world politics, everything we take for granted had gone a different way? What if all those things mothers whisper of to their children at night...were real? What would happen if history had taken a different turn?
Join the Fractured and find out. Set in a post-apocalyptic 2080s London, the Fractured takes place in the Clockwork Lullabye universe: so like our own world, but just a bit...different. Get your fix of steampunk and cyberpunk in equally lethal doses. Clockwork Lullabye maintains a focus on community and excellent writing, and we're always eager to meet new writers.
London was once not only a strong city, but a superpower in its own right. The marvel of the western world, it was the jewel on England's crown and the centre of an Empire that covered huge swaths of the globe.
Things change.
Now London is the only city left on the British Isles, and it's been split into sections; each Barony laying down thier own laws and trying to scrape out autonomy agianst a totalitarian government. There hasn't been an Monarch for decades. Most of London is hungry, all but those who live in the huge arcology that tries to rule this sprawling city. The runners and thieves, of course, they do all right. In New Westminster, engine-bangers work all night on the huge Analytical Engines that run the city. In Hammersmith and Newham, factories belch out black smoke into the sky, turning out mechanical modifications: new arms and legs, even eyes and ears. In Islington-Camden, kids hopped up on designer nanite drugs dance their spastic dances to the La La Girls in Trinity Church (now a nightclub), and in what used to be the Docklands, underground rock shows spread the word of a new revolution: the toppling of CityGov and the restoration of the Monarchy. It's a crazy, chaotic, sprawling world where not even the fittest always survive.
Where will you find your place?

A long time ago, the ancient gods decided to remedy an overcrowded Earth. They picked a new galaxy, one with plenty of room for all, and planets specialized for each being under their rule. Everyone had plenty of room to go about their businesses for thousands of years, blissfully unaware of the others on their planets.
Except for the Humans.
Always changing, evolving, learning new things, the Human population evolved much like their counterparts left on Earth. In a mere couple thousand years, they had covered almost their entire planet in cities, which soon merged into one planet-wide city. Their technologies could only sustain their needs for so long, and soon they had discovered their way into space flight, set on finding new planets to sustain their resources.
It was then that they realized they were not alone in the galaxy, and each planet they encountered had more new and exciting other sentient beings they thought had only existed in myth. Many of the beings welcomed them to their planets, trading resources and technologies, happy for brand new commerce, while others were not as receptive to the Humans arrivals on their planets. Some disdained them, and others hungered for their blood. The humans themselves had mixed reactions, as they often do. Sects of anti-Non-Humans rose up as other species began arriving on the Human home world. Others sought to use them to gain access to taking over their planets for themselves. While others embraced many of the new creatures, eager to learn from them, eager to make lasting friends.

Mutants have been around for years, and for a while, they were accepted members of society. Simple products of evolution, certain people were born with gifts that normal humans couldn't begin to fathom being able to accomplish. Most joked about the idea of superheroes and described these abilities as "powers" on the streets. Some, of course, didn't trust this advantage. Regardless, it wasn't abnormal to see somebody on the street corner cooling their glass of lemonade with their hands, or a shop owner doing the work of three men all with his mind. They were your brothers, your sisters, your neighbors, your teachers... They existed, and everyone knew it. America was prospering, life was content for most, and the economy continued to grow. Then disaster struck. America became too comfortable with their place as top dog. They became a bullying country, certain that nothing bad would befall them. On the evening of April 05, 2009, a cybernetic attack on the United States took place, wiping out every computer system in the country, and taking over those belonging to the military. Our own bombs attacked us, the economy crashed overnight, and within days America went from super power to third world country. The rich suddenly found themselves dirt poor when the computers recording their monetary earnings erased every cent; business after business went bankrupt. Soon crime was on the rise, and people had to jump through hoops to survive. In the wake of the destruction, a scape goat was needed. They blamed mutants. People that used to dine with their mutant neighbor soon started to attack them. Murders became the norm, and with as much chaos as there was, most went ignored. The bad economy made way for crooked cops, the rise of gangs and mafias, and, of course, every scumbag looking for a pay day to run rampant. The U.S. government, determined to build an army and get revenge, and the resources for the most powerful army was just staring them in the face. They began abducting mutants off of the streets to bring them back to a secret division known as Operation X to perform experiments on them. They were looking for ways to boost powers, but more importantly, they needed a way to control the mutants they captured. The danger was fierce, so those with powers took a variety of measures to escape persecution. Some denied what they truly were and attempted to live their lives in the new world as normal humans, hoping to never slip up in front of the wrong person. Others banded together and hid in a mostly ruined part of the country that used to be Manhattan that is rumored to be haunted, radioactive, and all other sorts of crazy superstitions (most created by the mutants living there to keep normal humans away). Still others thrived in the new dog-eat-dog world, using their powers to swindle people out of their money.
In 2020, it gets worse. All things prior to 2009 have been eradicated from the computers, but the country slowly starts to rebuild. Eventually, people start to figure out how to survive almost normally. Computers are relied upon less, new jobs are created to take the place of robotics, and people have figured out ways to cut corners due to the shortages of items at different times--and gas at all times. Used to this way of life, people become ignorant to the allocation of funds to Operation X, which has used ten years to develop a method of brainwash that has so far proven foolproof. Each expendable test subject brings them a step closer to creating the power boosters, and an even darker world lay on the horizon for the ostracized mutants as their friends disappear--and sometimes reappear as their enemies. It forces most to head for the Broken City, as dubbed by those who founded it, a mostly underground city that looks worse than the world surrounding it but works enough to keep them alive.

I REMEMBER
The Genetic Opera was one to remember that was for sure. The King is dead and now his children are running GeneCo. Shilo left to live her life, thinking her family was dead. However, that wasn't the case. Nathan survived the gun shot and he managed to save Mag, though she is now blind again.
REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE
The Graverobber has started a resistance to GeneCo and Amber because, frankly he's gotten annoyed by Amber. Amber is keeping tabs on Shilo and when she finds out Nathan is alive, she's not happy. She blackmails him into becoming the REPO MAN again in order to keep Shilo safe. Shilo, has no idea that her father is alive and she has heard of the resistance through Graverobber and is more than surprise to learn that Mag survived and is now working with them and providing them with a voice.
I REMEMBER
Now Nathan is back being the repo man for Geneco. Amber is threatening to harm Shilo if he runs. Graverobber contacts him and now he is part of the resistance, working on the inside to take out GeneCo. Will the heirs to the kingdom learn of the resistance? Will Shilo be reunited with Nathan? Who will win this war?
They say Earth-That-Was got all used up a long time ago. Folks were forced to leave or die, so they headed into the Black. Eventually, they found a small star system of planets and moons just ripe for terra forming, and they began to make them their own. It was the United States and the Chinese that led us out there; so the Core planets and the government that was formed to run them bear their mark. Ya gotta know both languages to get by now. The Core planets are the center of the Anglo Sino Alliance, but eventually the government and those that wanted no part of it alike moved out into the surrounding systems and colonized more worlds, some lush and green, others nothing more than an empty husk. But, there was some disagreement about who should run ‘em, and how.
A few years back there was a war between the Core planets and the rest of the 'Verse. Seemed a few folks didn’t wanna be ‘unified’ under the government’s clutches. The Alliance won the war, but their hold over the ‘Verse isn’t quite complete yet. Both sides thought they were in the right. Both sides did things no one should have to do, or can be proud of. And both sides harbor resentment, anger and regrets. Those who couldn’t stand to live under the new chokehold of the Alliance moved out further away from the Core to eke out a living on some nameless rock, or carve out a living in the Black.
Things out on the border ain’t so clean or advanced as they are in the Core. Most of the Rim frontier is a heck of a lot like the old west on Earth That Was. A mixture of old and new: gunslingers on cattle ranches and the rustlers that want them; horse traders and thieves alike; outlaws and honest folk working and living side by side with new tech and Old World know how. The Core worlds, well, there ya can find anything and everything, from Chinese temples to high tech towers to opium dens.
What it all boils down to is this: Spaceships, bullets, high tech and low, English and Chinese slang, rustic towns, high tech cities and bogeymen called Reavers. Don't go lookin’ for ‘em, don't mess with ‘em, don't do anything with them or else you end up raped, dead, and eaten with yer skin made into a fancy pair of pants. And if yer really lucky, it’ll happen in that order.
Got a ship? Then yer one of the lucky few. Stay one step ahead of the Alliance, and keep it flying. If not, do yer best to find a job that suits you, and keep yer gorram head down.
